Explain the basis upon which the safety management functions could differ from
facility to facility, and the basis to be used for applying ISM on a graded approach.
g.
Discuss the underlying safety management issues affecting the design,
construction, operation, and maintenance of the Department's facilities, activities,
and assets.
h.
Identify and lead the implementation of a significant site or Headquarters work
activity that demonstrates the application of ISM principles.
4.
An STSM shall have a working level knowledge of the general content of the
safety basis requirements, as described in 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR)
830, Subpart B, and the related DOE orders, standards, and guides.

Discuss the purpose and objectives of the nuclear facility safety basis program.
