A.
OBJECTIVES
i.
Module Objective.
Upon completion of this unit, the participants
should understand what X-rays are and how they
are produced so that the participants will be able to
work around them safely.
ii. Objectives.
Following self-study and/or classroom review, the
participants will be able to:
1. Define the types of electromagnetic radiation.
2. Describe the difference between X-rays and
gamma rays.
3. Identify how X-rays are produced.
4. Define bremsstrahlung and characteristic
X-rays.
5. Describe how X-ray tube voltage and current
affect photon energy and power.
6. Explain how X-rays interact with matter.
