By your actions, show interest
in the individual to whom you
are listening. Show your
desire to listen.
Take time to listen, and be
sure you are ready to listen.
Try to learn something. Be
positive rather than negative.

the sender to repeat or clarify.
Ask who, what, why, where,
when, and how.
Do not interrupt the sender in
mid-sentence. Wait for an
