PROPERTIES OF TRITIUM - What is tritium?

Tritium is a radioactive isotope of hydrogen (H).

Hydrogen is the lightest and most abundant element in the
universe. Hydrogen has only one proton in its nucleus.
Tritium has, in addition to the single proton, two neutrons
in its nucleus. This makes it three times heavier than the
most common form of hydrogen.
