Organic solvents with a flash point below 60oC (140oF) may be classified as
o
"ignitable," thus creating a mixed waste where disposal may not be possible. If
the flash point is above 140oF, the organic solvent may not be considered as
ignitable; however, these materials must be handled and disposed of with
extreme caution.

Other methods for facilitating disposal:
o
Do not combine solvents with metals; disposal is very difficult. Examples are
lead or mercury combined with solvents.
o
Generally, it is a good idea to separate organics and inorganics whenever
possible to facilitate disposal.
