As a result of the TMI-2 accident, a chapter on human
factors engineering was added to NUREG-0800, "standard Review
Plan."  Regulatory Guide 1.70 has not yet been revised to address
this subject.  This chapter identifies criteria for human factors
engineering associated with the design of the control room and
the safety parameter display system.
This section identifies criteria for the design review
of the control room and remote shutdown capability to assure the
ability of reactor operators to prevent accidents and to cope
with accidents if they occur.
