Suggested Learning Activities:

Review basic concepts covered in previous training, to refamiliarize the
trainee with information contained in the emergency operating
procedure design bases.
30.1-30.3
Have a discussion with an individual that is knowledgeable in transient
and accident analysis, with an emphasis on providing the shift
supervisor a thorough, design-based operational understanding of
emergency operating procedures that will enhance their ability to make
decisions during emergencies.
30.4
Use a case-study approach with emphasis on situations where deviation
from emergency operating procedures is allowed. Also, discuss the
limitations and problems associated with such a decision. Trainee's
plans may be run in the simulator to illustrate the results.

Suggested Evaluation Activities:
30.1-30.3
Conduct a qualitative evaluation of trainee responses and discussions.
30.4
Review responses derived by trainee during the case study to include
allowances in deviation from emergency operating procedures and
associated problems and benefits.
Note
A simulator (for those facilities that have simulators) may be used to
apply learning from discussions and case studies for evaluation of the
terminal learning objective.
