Apply administrative procedure requirements of personnel accidents.
Enabling Learning Objectives:
Given an industrial safety event, analyze the event for the root cause(s).
Given a personnel accident event and using facility procedures, develop a plan to
accomplish required activities.
Appropriate facility administrative procedures.
Applicable portion of company safety manual.
Site emergency plan.
Suggested Learning Activities:
Use a case-study approach, performed by the facility safety coordinator
or another individual knowledgeable of industrial safety practices,
which addresses a personnel accident and includes a diagnosis of root
causes and a determination of activities to be accomplished by the shift
supervisor. The case study should include a discussion of the bases for
the company's safety policy, responsibilities of the shift supervisor
following a personnel accident (including immediate and follow-up
actions), company policy and the role of the supervisor in correcting
accident causes, and the reasons for the implementation of procedural
requirements during and following an accident.
