Planning and Managing Evolutions
Module: Leadership and Management
Outline Number: LM--1
Terminal Learning Objective:
Plan and implement activities to conduct evolutions, such as special tests or integrated
facility operations tasks.
Enabling Learning Objectives:
Given an operating evolution to be accomplished and access to all documents
available in the control room area, evaluate the evolution to determine facility
conditions necessary for task completion.
Given a statement of desired facility conditions and current facility indications
showing that the desired conditions do not exist, plan the actions necessary to establish
the desired conditions.
Given a required series of operating actions, coordinate facility activities to complete
the required actions correctly and in the proper sequence.
Given a required series of operating actions, conduct a briefing of the operating crew
to prepare them to carry out the actions efficiently and effectively.
Given complications that hinder the completion of a desired operating evolution,
determine whether or not to continue with the evolution.
Given an operating task that affects or requires support from other facility
departments, coordinate activities with those departments to accomplish the task
efficiently and without unnecessarily impacting those departments.
Given a request by another department that affects operating tasks, evaluate the ability
of the operating crew to support the request.
Given conflicting plans, evaluate the plans to establish priorities for accomplishing the
