9.
Sealed radioactive sources having activities below one tenth of the Appendix 4A values should be labeled
consistent with Article 412 and should be periodically inventoried to ensure their retention and proper use and
s torage.
10.
Procurement of radioactive sources should be coordinated with the radiological control organization.
11.
Receipt surveys of radioactive material shipments should be performed by the radiological control organization in
accordance with Article s 553 and 554.
12.
Sealed radioactive sources, including radiography sources, should not be brought on-site by external organizations
without the prior knowledge and approval of the radiological control organization.
13.
A custodian should be appointed to coordinate sealed radioactive source procurement, issue, inventory, leak
testing, and other aspects of the sealed radioactive source control program. If justified by the scale of the program,
sealed radioactive source user groups should appoint group-specific custodians to coordinate activities involving
sealed radioactive sources within the group.
