A. There are three primary sources of tritium.
These are:
1. Environmental sources - Reactions between
cosmic rays and the upper atmosphere

2. By-product of power reactors
Ternary fission - A fission event resulting
in fission fragments, one of which is
tritium. Occurrence typically has a 0.1%
yield.

Savannah River reactors) is by the following
