C. Unattended installation
The RGD is installed in a single-purpose
shielded enclosure, and the design shall ensure
that individuals are not exposed to doses
exceeding 100 mrem in a year.
D. Open installation
Open installations must be conspicuously
posted, and have a conspicuously defined
perimeter. The perimeter must delimit the area
in which the exposure can exceed 5 mrem in
any one hour. The operational staff shall
provide constant surveillance. Other
requirements include use of survey meters,
personnel dosimetry, and temporary shielding.
