4.1.4.3 The measures employees can take to protect themselves

from these hazards, including specific procedures the
29CFR1910.1450(f)(4)(i)(C)
employer has implemented to protect employees from
exposure to hazardous chemicals, such as appropriate
work practices, emergency procedures, and personal
protective equipment to be used; and,
4.1.4.4 The details of the hazard communication program
29CFR1910.1200(h)(3)(iv)
developed by the employer, including an explanation of
the labeling system and the material safety data sheet,
and how employees can obtain and use the appropriate
hazard information.
4.2 Chemical Laboratories In addition to the requirements of Section 4.1
29CFR1910.1450(f)
above, employees in chemical laboratories shall also be trained as
follows:

The location and availability of the employer's
29CFR1910.1450(f)(3)(ii)
Chemical Hygiene Plan;
4.2.1.2
The permissible exposure limits for OSHA-regulated
29CFR1910.1450(f)(3)(iii)
substances or recommended exposure limits for other
hazardous chemicals where there is no applicable
OSHA standard;
4.2.1.3
Signs and symptoms associated with exposures to
29CFR1910.1450(f)(3)(iv)
hazardous chemicals used in the laboratory; and
4.2.1.4
The location and availability of known reference
29CFR1910.1450(f)(3)(v)
material on the hazards, safe handling, storage and
disposal of hazardous chemicals found in the laboratory
including, but not limited to, Material Safety Data
Sheets received from the chemical supplier.
4.2.2
Training The employee shall be trained on the applicable
29CFR1910.1450(f)(4)(ii)
details of the employer's written Chemical Hygiene Plan.
4.3
The employer shall provide training to each employee who is
29CFR1910.132(f)(1)
required by this section to use PPE.
4.4
Respirators. The employer shall provide effective training to
29CFR1910.134(k)
employees who are required to use respirators. The training must be
comprehensive, understandable, and recur annually and more often
if necessary.
