In an office occupancy, not more than 25 gallons (94.6
NFPA 30, 4.-5.5.4
liters) of Class I and Class II liquids (see definition)
combined shall be kept in a single fire area in safety
cans outside of a storage cabinet or an inside liquid
storage area.
4.4.7
In an office occupancy, not more than 60 gallons (227
NFPA 30, 4.5.5.5
liters) of Class III liquids (see definition) shall be
stored outside of an inside liquid storage area or storage
cabinet.
4.4.8
Wherever flammable or combustible liquids are used,
NFPA 30, 5.13.2.1
either fire extinguishers or pre-connected hoses shall be
provided in accordance with NFPA 30.
4.4.9
Whenever a combustible liquid is heated for use to

within 30F (16.7C) of its flash point, it shall be
handled in accordance with the requirements for the
next lower class of liquids.
4.4.10 An approved (see definition) means for prompt
NFPA 30, 5.13.4.1
notification of fire or emergency to those within the
plant and to the fire department shall be provided.
4.4.11 Those areas, including buildings, where a potential
NFPA 30, 5.13.4.2
exists for a flammable liquid spill shall be monitored
for the presence of those liquids.
4.4.12 All fire protection equipment, and associated alarms,
NFPA 30, 5.13.6.1
interlocks, and controls, shall be properly maintained,
and periodic inspections and tests shall be done in
accordance with both standard practice and the
equipment manufacturer's recommendations.
4.4.13 Maintenance and operating practices shall control
NFPA 30, 5.13.6.2;
leakage and prevent spillage of flammable liquids.

4.4.14 Spills shall be cleaned up promptly.

4.4.15 Combustible waste material and residues in operating

areas shall be kept to a minimum, shall be stored in
covered metal containers, and shall be disposed of
