Internal Monitoring
Whole body counters, chest counters, and/or
bioassay samples may be used to monitor
radioactive material in the human body. In some
cases, the locations of radioactive material may be
determined. An internal dose estimate may be
performed based on these measurements.

Methods for Obtaining Radiation Dose Records
1.
Individuals who are monitored for exposure at DOE

a.
Upon the request from an individual terminating
employment, records of radiation dose shall be
provided by the DOE facility within 90 days. If
requested, a written estimate of radiation exposure
received by the terminating employee shall be
provided at the time of termination.
b.
Each individual required to be monitored for
radiation exposure at a DOE facility shall receive a
report of that exposure on an annual basis.
c.
Detailed information concerning any individual's
dose shall be made available to the individual upon
request of that individual.
