THE BACKGROUND CASE STUDY

The background case study is ideal for use within a lesson plan as a motivator, as an

introduction to a new objective or lesson topic, or as a means for measuring trainee

comprehension of the lesson material. The case study is presented to the trainees by the

instructor and then discussed. After the discussion, a handout similar to the one beginning on

page B-15 can be distributed to the trainees as reinforcement of the case studies lessons

learned.
