Contamination Areas (CAs)
CAs are those areas, accessible to individuals, in which
removable contamination levels are greater than 1 time
but less than or equal to 100 times the specified limits
in Appendix D of 10 CFR 835.
a.
Posting Requirements:
"CAUTION, CONTAMINATION AREA"
b.
Unescorted entry into this area requires
appropriate training, such as RW II training.
4.
High Contamination Areas (HCAs)
An HCA is an area, accessible to individuals, in which
removable contamination levels are 100 times or more
the specified limits in Appendix D of 10 CFR 835.
a.
Posting Requirements:
"CAUTION or DANGER, HIGH
Show sign.
CONTAMINATION AREA"
Additionally, the posting may state:
"RWP REQUIRED FOR ENTRY"
b.
Unescorted entry into this area requires
appropriate training, such as RW II training.
5.
Airborne Radioactivity Areas (ARAs)
ARAs are those areas, accessible to individuals, where
the concentration of airborne radioactivity, above
natural background, exceeds or is likely to exceed the
specified limits in 10 CFR 835.
a.
Posting Requirements:
"CAUTION or DANGER AIRBORNE
RADIOACTIVITY AREA"
Additionally, the posting may state:
Show sign.
"RWP REQUIRED FOR ENTRY"
b.
Unescorted entry into this area requires
appropriate training, such as RW II training.
