Outgassing from Bulk Materials . Discussions on the outgassing from bulk

materials can be subdivided into two parts: outgassing from surfaces that have

been wetted with tritium and outgassing from surfaces that have not been

wetted with tritium. For surfaces that have been wetted with tritium, the

behavior of the outgassing should be virtually identical to that described above.

For surfaces that have not been wetted with tritium, it should be assumed that

the source of the outgassing is from tritium that has been dissolved in the body

of the parent material.
