Back-up personnel should stand by with equipment

stand by with medical equipment and transportation

capability.

(10) The Incident Commander should designate a safety

official, who is knowledgeable in the operations

being implemented at the emergency response site,

with specific responsibility to identify and evaluate

hazards and to provide direction with respect to the

safety of operations for the emergency at hand.

(11) When activities are judged by the safety official to

be an Immediately Dangerous to Life and Health

(IDLH) condition and/or to involve an imminent

danger condition, the safety official should have

the authority to alter, suspend, or terminate those

activities. The safety official should immediately

inform the Incident Commander of any actions

needed to be taken to correct these hazards at an

emergency scene.

(12) After emergency operations have terminated, the

Incident Commander should implement appropriate
