Chapter 15 Accident Analyses

The criteria identified in this chapter are for repre-

sentative initiating events that result in the unplanned

transients that are tabulated in Chapter 15 of Regulatory Guide

1.70 and whose analysis should be included in an SAR.

This section identifies criteria for initiating events

that involve decrease in feedwater temperature, increase in feed-

water flow, increase in steam flow, inadvertent opening of steam

generator relief or safety valve, and steam system piping fail-

ures.
