conditions and standards, and instructions to the trainee and the evaluator. A performance test
measures the adequacy of a trainee's knowledge and skills on each task. The evaluation
standard is used to administer a performance test. It defines the conditions (cues) that signal a
person to perform a specific task, establishes conditions under which actions occur, and
establishes standards that measure knowledge and performance. Figure 1. depicts the
relationship of a task to a terminal objective to a TES and the output of the TES.
