OBJECTIVES

Module Objective.
Upon completion of this unit, the participants should understand what X-rays are and
how they are produced so that the participants will be able to work around them safely.

Objectives.
Following self-study and/or classroom review, the participants will be able to:

Describe the difference between X-rays and gamma rays.

Identify how X-rays are produced.

Define bremsstrahlung and characteristic X-rays.

Explain how X-rays interact with matter.
7.
Identify how energy relates to radiation dose.
8.
Discuss the effects of voltage, current, and filtration on X-rays.
