Special Requirements for Donation of Certain Hazardous

Many hazardous materials require special storage and
handling. (See Sections 4.8.2, 4.8.3, and 4.8.4, below.)]
4.5.3.1 A SASP must obtain written justification from the
41CFR102-37.220(d);
prospective donee, and submit it to GSA along with the
41CFR101-42.1102-2
transfer request, prior to allocation of items containing 50
ppm or greater of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB).
4.5.3.2 The Federal holding agency or the SASP shall properly

store hazardous materials, ensure the use of necessary

safeguards, and instruct donation screeners on personal
protection when inspecting the surplus.
4.5.3.3 The SASP and/or the donee shall comply with DOT

4.6 Sale Of Hazardous Materials To Public Bodies - General
4.6.1 Holding Agency Sales - All provisions of 41CFR101-45 and
41CFR101-45.103-2;
41CFR101-46 shall be followed in conducting sales of Federal
41CFR101-45;
government-owned surplus chemicals, if not superceded by DOE-
41CFR101-46;
PMR and 41CFR101-42.

4.6.1.1 Contractor chemical inventory held by DOE designated
