Radiation Protection Concepts and Procedures:

Demonstrate proficiency in using DOE and Department of Transportation standards and
contractor administrative limits in practical situations.
External Radiation Exposure Control:
1.
Demonstrate the ability to utilize the principles of time, distance, and shielding to minimize
personnel exposure.
2.
Solve simple distance attenuation problems for line and point sources.
3.
Perform corrections for instrument readings (geometry, distance)
4.
Evaluate the effectiveness of temporary shielding in various practical applications.
5.
Perform gamma-ray shielding calculations using these items:
