1. Promote the application of lessons learned from operating experience.

Enabling Learning Objectives:

1.1

Describe the facility and company philosophy concerning the review and use of lessons

learned from operating experience.

1.2

Using the appropriate facility procedure(s), explain the facility/company process for

obtaining, reviewing, and assigning actions based on the lessons learned from industry-

and facility-specific operating experience.

1.3

Describe how application of the lessons learned from operating experience can prevent

a facility event and how you can make better use of the lessons learned from operating

experience in the future.

1.4

Describe the benefits of and bases for the reporting, effective tracking and trending, and

sharing of information on nonconsequential or near-miss in-house events (as well as

actual or consequential events) and the importance of facility management in promoting

and cultivating an atmosphere of open communications in event or problem reporting

within the workforce.

1.5

Describe how the application of lessons learned from operating experience should be

integrated into pre-evolution briefings to further reinforce and internalize operating

experience and instill into operations personnel that "t can happen here."
